This is an exciting time to join Virgin Media as a Senior OBIEE and Visualisation Analyst as you will play a major role in delivering the data and insight agenda to extract maximum business value from the multiple datasets across multiple platforms in VM using various BI tools. You will work as part of a high-performing data intelligence team, which has the remit to ensure maximum value is gained from its data assets across the business.We are delivering the biggest investment in the UK’s digital infrastructure for over a decade, with a £3bn programme to extend our ultrafast broadband network and brilliant Virgin TV to 17 million homes and businesses. We’re challenging our competitors with the best services and the fastest speeds.Role PurposeThe consumer insight & analytics area is a new organisation recently formed through the merging of a number of data-led teams. The core purpose of the function is to transform current capabilities to drive competitive advantage through performing deep analytics in order to provide actionable insight and cross-channel communications.

You will be responsible for developing Interactive OBIEE reports & dashboards to help maximise the value the business can get from its data, while also supporting and enhancing the current OBIEE estate and the datasets behind it
As a senior developer you will be an ambassador for promoting the OBIEE estate with the business, while also developing and coaching other developers in smarter ways of working
Your experience will mean you have a wide range of visualisation techniques in order to tell a complex story clearly and concisely either through OBIEE or standalone analysis
In addition to your advanced OBIEE skillset, you will have a passion for visualisation and will push the boundaries
Collaborate with the technology division and partnerships with third parties to ensure world class deliveries and portals are available to business users

Key Accountabilities

To help transform the data intelligence environment for the Virgin Media consumer division through development of the visualisation estate
To investigate, question and derive value from large datasets, and to challenge discrepancies within it
Help develop and implement value enhancing business outputs to drive a stepwise change in revenue growth

Knowledge, Experience And Skills

Experience of providing data visualisation and analysis using OBIEE 11g or above in a data-rich organisation
Excellent SQL development skills and experience with Netezza, Hadoop or similar platforms
Knowledge of working around very large data sets
Proven track record in building and delivering OBIEE applications and warehousing technologies:
Excellent knowledge of Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE) 11g at all levels
Creation of Reports/ Dashboards using Answers - creation of various reporting views, complex filters and dashboard, prompts, BI Publisher
Performance tuning of OBIEE reports and dashboards
Good understanding of Oracle BI security model, cache management and experience of handling data quality control and reporting mechanisms
Expert understanding of big data and BI best practice, tools, and understanding of latest industry techniques
HTML/HTML5, CSS, Javascript capabilities such as D3 would be very advantageous
Excellent stakeholder management and consultative skills.
