An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Credit Risk Analyst in the new Admiral Loans team, which has recently launched its first mainstream product offering.

The role involves taking the lead on our credit risk and pricing analytics, covering acquisition strategy, portfolio monitoring, pricing and collections performance, and supporting the imminent launch of new lending products from Admiral.

The successful candidate will be able to quickly fit into a fast-moving, innovative and high profile environment, and will be required to hit the ground running; prior experience in a credit risk function is therefore a prerequisite.

Main Duties

The analytical role is flexible, with opportunities to become involved in all aspects of the Risk function’s remit according to experience and longer-term career aspirations. Due to current team priorities, preference will be given to candidates with experience in scorecard model building or front-end acquisition/pricing functions, but the role will also involve:

Data extraction and analysis across the various stages of the credit risk lifecycle.
Enhancing the suite of Risk MI, improving efficiencies of production in order to provide more in-depth analysis on key trends.
Monitoring the risk/reward profile of the portfolio, analysing and proposing changes to acquisition strategies and/or product pricing as appropriate.
Building and maintaining application & portfolio scorecards and models.
Managing the pricing infrastructure to support a business with multiple channels, products and models.
Providing a wider range of analytical support in order to meet the Risk team’s objectives, and feed into the wider business’ financial targets.

Required skills and experience:

At least two years’ analytical experience within a credit risk function is essential.
Good degree in a numerical subject.
Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Experience of extracting, manipulating and analysing data using SAS (or similar data tools such as R).
Understanding of the full responsibilities of a credit risk function, from Acquisition through Customer Management to Collections/Recoveries.
Strong planning/organisation skills with the ability to manage your own workload, prioritise competing workloads, and support wider projects.
Good written & verbal communication skills and attention to detail.
