Senior Analyst (Strategy)

Our client, a global leading industry giant, and very prestigious organisation are looking for a Senior Analyst to join their Group Strategy function on a permanent basis.

This role is situated in central London, and provides an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to develop a holistic understanding of the analysis and market-intel that the organisation gathers. You will then add to this, analyse and collate the findings to be able to inform and guide critical business decisions.


Overview of Role:

*Senior Analyst will split their time across three main functions; Developing a knowledge base of the economic value chain and how it will change in future; contributing to strategic projects and implementations; and support the group wide initiative of migrating data and insight reporting to a cloud-based solution.

*Senior Analyst will prepare visualisations/dashboards, notes and presentations to summarise findings of analysis for internal stakeholders.

*Senior Analyst will liaise with appropriate departments and Managers on initiatives involving the Digitisation of collecting, collating and disseminating Group Strategy Insight.

*Senior Analyst will work closely with the other Analysts from all areas of the business, to ensure an understanding of the 'universe' of data and how to best optimise analytical output.

*Senior Analyst will identify key areas of change in the market and will develop relevant models to quantify potential impact, and will test hypothesis of the best course of action for the organisation.

*Senior Analyst will be responsible for the development, maintenance and enhancement of analytical tools, models and databases for the delivery of all strategic analysis.


Skills and Experience Required:

*Experience in a similar environment, managing complex market data, modelling data, and producing detailed analytical outputs.

*Understanding and interest in various economic trends, industry trends and business performance.

*Strong data analysis and modelling skills- advanced Excel skills as a minimum.

*Financially literate- able to build/use financial models and interpreting sales, operating costs, EBITDA, cash flows, ROCE etc.

*Demonstrated ability to analyse and interpret data collected from multiple sources.

*Confident working in a fast-paced and complex environment, delivering to deadlines.

*Strong commercial acumen, and ability to liaise with internal and external contacts as required.

*Presentation skills, particularly with Excel and PowerPoint. Willing to learn new skills.

*Strong written and oral communication skills.

*Ideally educated to Masters level.

*Knowledge of natural resources industry would be highly beneficial.
