Purpose of the Role:

The key purpose of the role is to develop data architecture to support reporting and dashboard requirements

across the Formula 1 business. The business is striving to take its Business Intelligence and analytics to the

next level and firmly embed this capability within the business to drive performance. To do this we need to have

a clean, structured and intelligent data surface sitting over the top of our numerous data sources (HR, Strategy,

Finance, Manufacturing, Design etc.)

Role Dimensions:

This is a newly created role reporting to the Project Manager in the Business systems team for the operational

and technical aspects of the role. Given the uniqueness of the position there will also be a strategic reporting line

to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager who will largely guide the BI development and enhancement

goals. The successful candidate will likely be a new graduate or recent graduate. This person will support and

manage the delivery of various data projects to service the BI reporting suite and dashboards across the whole

F1 business. The role will encompass a broad range of stakeholders from HODs to functional director level and

the candidate will need to develop a close working partnership with the FP&A team and IT to successfully deliver

the various projects.

Principal Responsibilities:

Responsible for design and development of the database layer utilising most suitable database technologies (RDB, Node/Graph, Document type databases)
Construction of ETL processes to meet business requirements
Create necessary code and data integration jobs to process large volumes of complex data
Ownership of import processes, job scheduling and design of data quality control checks
Documentation and standardisation of design of data solutions, adherence to data principles and framework
Management of database permissions and access rights to ensure protection of sensitive data
Integration of new data sources on a project by project basis as guided by business strategy
Perform system testing and liaise with stakeholders during testing phases
Troubleshoot data import error logs and build data validation infrastructure
Management & support of automated report delivery across the business

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

The candidate will likely have an undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Business Analytics or Economics.
Possess an excellent knowledge in SQL Server, ETL and relational databases as well as use of OLAP and data cubes
Advanced skills in MS SQL server, MS Query, relational databases and data manipulation techniques
Database experience in RDB alternatives such as Neo4J, MongoDB, RethinkDB would be beneficial
Must demonstrate experience in the development of ETL & data solutions
Skilled in data warehousing concepts and data modelling
Some familiarity with MS Excel,  VBA or MDX or .NET or Infor products advantageous but not essential
Experience designing and maintaining automated reports using a variety of different sources
Must have excellent stakeholder engagement skills and have an analytical mind with attention to detail, and
Delivering and managing change within a systems / processes context.
