The Big Data and Security (BDS) practice within Atos has been formed out of the takeover of Bull Information Systems at the end of 2014, which had already firmly established a pedigree in the fields of High Performance Computing, Big Data and proprietary solutions in Security. As part of the takeover Atos sees a significant opportunity in Big Data and consequently is now investing and growing the BDS practice in the UK by hiring Presales Engineers, and Senior Solution Architects in HPC and Big Data within the HPC& Big Data Solutions Group.
Those joining us will be part of an already established team of senior solution architects, application developers and project management with a pedigree mainly in HPC but also with some experience in data analytics (Hadoop, SAP Hana).
The main driver for this role is to ensure significant growth in the BDS Big Data Analytics pipeline and therefore enable BDS to address a greater volume of deals. It is vital that the successful candidate is a self-starter and begins in the role with a large body of subject matter expertise to hand (that exceeds our current capability) and also has a large number of customer wins already to their name (preferably in the private sector).
The candidate will be technically-facing with customers, providing presentations, designing and configuring competitive hardware and software solutions and responding to tenders/RFI/RFP. they must also identify the shortfall in key areas of knowledge that he/she needs to equip themselves with that expertise.
This position is available UK Wide, successful candidate will need to be prepared to travel, predominantly within the South East region where most clients are based.
· Knowledge of Supercomputing, also known as High Performance Computing (HPC): hardware and middleware
· Technologies: understanding of the applications domain MPI and OpenMP, understanding of InfiniBand and high performance storage technology
· Must be a proven self-starter and be willing to look outside the standard ‘catalogue’ for solutions
· Security clearance to SC/DV level (or willing to undergo to DV)
· Prepared to travel nationally to customer and Atos sites. Some international travel
· Background in HPC related field like Bioinformatics, Computation Fluid Dynamics
· Big Data presales solution architect professional with most recent 5 years proven experience in delivering deals to the private and public sector (chiefly private sector)
· Solid understanding of some or all of the following technologies and frameworks:
o Hadoop (Cloudera, MapR, HortonWorks, Apache)
o Streaming (Tibco, IBM InfoSphere, Apache Storm
o Graph Analytics, eg Intel Graph Builder
Training opportunities in this role may include deep learning and quantum computing.
