The Database Marketing department’s purpose is to leverage data and insight to target effective acquisition and retention activity and to provide key strategic commercial support services to the wider marketing function including customer, pricing and market analysis and insight; driving definition of Omni channel Strategy; and co-ordination of planning activity.


The role of Director of Decision Science requires ownership on establishing and managing HomeServe’s centralised data function. You will be leading the Data and Marketing Analytics agenda, and working with the Director of Business Intelligence to establish business wide data standards and governance.


Further responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:

Exploit data assets to generate actionable analytical insights and tangible business benefits
Establish and deliver technologies, tools, approaches and methodologies to unlock the value in enterprise data assets of an organisation
Foster innovation by leveraging emerging data and analytics technologies.
Accountable for the overall effectiveness of marketing activity and return on investment (ROI) from acquisition and retention investment.
Accountable for the generation of effective and compliant marketing leads.
Responsible for driving optimisation of channels.
Accountable for incremental value generated through analytics.
Accountable for driving data led decisions for all key marketing activity.
Responsible for delivery of a new CRM solution to support data led offers and services through Next Best Action offers and services.
Accountable for establishing and driving HomeServe’s automated marketing roadmap
Accountable for establishing the foundations for enhancements to HML’s marketing capabilities such as “Next Best Action”
Responsible for oversight of all marketing planning activity
Accountable for oversight of all pricing activity
Accountable for all customer intelligence and marketing competitor insight and reporting 

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following knowledge, skills and attributes:

Experienced Data Director
Numerate degree educated or equivalent
Strong multi-channel marketing experience preferably within financial services.
Experience of loyalty and retention marketing, and pricing in a Financial Services business
Proven track record working in a fast paced, consumer facing organisation in the Financial Services sector.
Extensive strategic, analytical and financial evaluation skills.
Sound knowledge of all HomeServe products and marketing processes.
Maintains appropriate knowledge of the ‘High Level Standards’ within the FCA’s Handbook of Rules and Guidance and be able to apply this knowledge in ensuring the business complies fully with the regulations.
Detailed up to date knowledge of all legislation relating to financial promotions and codes of practice (ICOBS 3 - Insurance Code of Business Sourcebook 3 [Distance Marketing]).
Knowledge of product economics and HomeServe business model.
MBA or other relevant qualifications
