Are you an experienced Database Analyst with a background in working with Data Warehouses across multiple sites and geographies? We’re looking for someone with strong technical and analysis skills to help us support, monitor and enhance our core global business databases.
Based from our Head Office in Bellshill, this role will support and enable the ambitious plans of a growing global spirits company with a portfolio of premium brands, including Glenfiddich, Hendricks Gin and Grant's whisky to name but a few.
This is essentially a green-field role as we build our Data Warehousing capability from scratch. You’ll be able to help us shape the direction of the project and ensure that we have the right analytical toolkit in place from day one.
As a vital member of the team you will be involved a variety of exciting projects from day one which will include:
Provide primary support to Business Intelligence and reporting platforms and associated databases
Design and improve database monitoring activities; identifying growth patterns, trends in data, capacity planning and archiving
Control and deliver appropriate database patching, upgrading and routine maintenance to ensure optimum database performance
Incorporate robust periodic controls with associated alerts to maintain the integrity andavailability of databases
Proactively monitor disk activity, core data and batch processes to identify trends in business growth and behaviour with input towards the technical roadmap and data retention policies
Establish strong relationships to manage 3rd party support and flex partners; maximising service through hosting review meetings to ensure SLAs are met.
Provide 2nd and 3rd level support to databases; with ownership and control of issues to resolution
Recommend future improvements in terms of architecture, hardware configuration and database design
Establish key stakeholder engagement with internal Operations and Application teams
You will have a strong technical skillset, including excellent SQL skills, and have experience of using proactive monitoring techniques. You’ll have good awareness of industry standards and technologies, e.g. MS technology stack, SSIS and SSRS. You’ll also have a proven track record of utilising best practice methodologies to identify, influence, deliver and embed change and operational improvements
