This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious data analyst to join the BT Business team. Their key role will be to provide actionable insight on our B2B customers, and add value to the commercial process by delivering both strategic and tactical quantitative analysis work.

They will be expected to use data mining methodology and techniques to develop and deliver insight solutions, using expert Oracle SQL coding skills. These insights will then be used to steer customer selection and optimise campaign targeting and segmentation based on insight. Engage with business stakeholders to optimise propositions through insights


What you’ll be doing

·         Apply data mining techniques to customer and market data to deliver insight for marketing planning.

·         Extract post campaign data from Adobe, and turn it into meaningful insights

·         Develop strategic and tactical scoring methodologies to optimise the campaign targeting and data selection

·         Steer the campaign targeting and data selection process to maintain coherence with business and segment plans while optimising agreed value and volume metrics

·         Ensure that segmentation and targeting score data is provided to appropriate systems for wider use within BT Business

·         Provide consultancy in analysis and data mining to the Marketing community. Promote best practice in these fields.

·         Provide post campaign analysis in terms of campaign success and future insight learning’s


We’ll also need to see these on your CV:

·         Have expert Oracle SQL coding skills that can be used to develop good quality analytics insight to support business requirements

·         Expert knowledge of Excel/PowerPoint to create meaningful analytics insight (knowledge of Tableau/R/ and R Studio would also be advantageous)

·         Familiar with Business firmographic information and the makeup of the UK SME market

·         Experience working with large complex rational databases

·         Be able to engage and present Analytics insight to Key stakeholders within Digital, Product & Strategy team

·         Ability to present information clearly to Senior Stakeholders and ability to articulate insight in a commercial and marketing context

·         Experience/working knowledge of Adobe

·         Able to contribute actively in team activities, sharing experiences and ideas.

·         Builds productive relationships internally and externally to achieve goals

·         Demonstrable working knowledge of B2B customer data structure

·         Understanding of statistical modelling techniques in a marketing environment

·         Prior experience of Telco business environment, or experience in the financial services industry preferred

·         Ability to drive for delivery and meaningful results

·         Good communication and networking skills and time management

·         Demonstrable working knowledge of B2B customer data structure
