You’ll be working in a team of 5 amazing Cognos Specialists who all have an equal mix of BI and Planning skills. We are all working towards the same goal, bringing the best support to the business by offering best practice counsel, quality consultancy, training and mentoring as well as helpdesk support.
You’ll have the opportunity to self-govern your own projects end to end and put your ideas and skills in to motion. If you do not like being micro managed, then this role is perfect as you’re trusted to get the job done without someone peering over your shoulder, however a great support and advisory network are at hand.
At times you’ll have to go back to the basics by completing administrative tasks such as setting up user access and documentation, but this is shared equally across the time.
Initially the development and support will be in Cognos Planning, but due to the ever growing Finance Transformation Project there is a work stream to migrate to a new tool/s. This could provide you with new and exciting future opportunities within Hiscox!
What you’ll be doing as a Cognos Planning Specialist:
Scope and build new Planning models or make amendments to existing models.
Assist in the implementation of Cognos Change Control and Cognos Migration Approach to a new tool/s.
Act as a conduit between finance, IT and the business on Cognos related matters.
Promote the use of Cognos ‘best practice’ across the Group
Documenting of key activities and processes.
Provide general support to the business on Cognos including training, mentoring and helpdesk support.
Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Cognos Enterprise Planning (Analyst and Contributor).
Accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) or appropriate business experience.
Solid experience in leading several Cognos implementations.
A driven individual and effective team player
