The Co-op is changing. And it’s changing fast. As owners of one of the UK’s largest commercial property portfolios, we’ve got a big job on our hands transforming the Co-op estate to make it fit for the future. The estates central support team supports the delivery of our retail development programme by reporting across the full estate lifecycle. They provide crucial insight on every aspect of the process, from acquisition to asset management, and now we’re looking to recruit a talented BI analyst to join the team, and help take their service to the next level. If you can bring us a winning combination of great people skills and serious analytical ability, we can offer you the chance to build a career and make a big impact in a business that puts people (and data) at the heart of its strategy.
As a BI analyst at the Co-op, you’ll work with people from across our estates services teams to understand their insight requirements. We’ll look to you to create bespoke reports and dashboards that’ll add massive value for our estates leaders. And if you can use the data to make strong recommendations that drive real cost benefit, you’ll have a unique opportunity to make a visible impact of the delivery of our retail development programme.
What you’ll do:
• engage with estates leaders to understand their BI requirements
• build reports and dashboards that address internal customers’ needs
• draw key insights and make recommendations based on data
• manage and deliver a wide range of standard MI reports
To be successful as a BI analyst, you’ll need a natural talent for manipulating large quantities of data. We want to deliver a step change in estates reporting, moving from management information to real business intelligence. We’ll need you to pull out key themes and insights from the data, so you’ll need to be more than just a number cruncher. Real commercial awareness is vital, as well as confidence and credibility at the highest level so you can get buy-in to your recommendations.
What you’ll bring:
• advanced MS Excel skills (Including vlookups, Sum Ifs and pivot tables)
• experience of working with and manipulating big data-sets
• experience of Cognos system desirable
• the thinking ability to draw valid commercial insights from data
• communication and influencing skills to present compelling recommendations
173 years ago the Rochdale pioneers came up with an idea that changed the world. They believed that when people work together, they’re stronger, and it’s thanks to them that when you join the modern Co-op, you’ll receive a competitive salary and a benefits package that includes 27 days holiday, an annual incentive scheme, discounts on all kinds of products and services, and an amazing pension.
We want to change the world all over again. If you believe in our purpose, and you’re keen to progress your career with a business that’s different to all the rest, then join us. And help us rebuild an iconic British brand.
We’re actively seeking to build diverse teams, and we welcome applications from all people regardless of ethnicity, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability status. We will make adjustments to our interview process according to your needs.
