We are looking for a talented and creative BI Analyst interested in pushing the boundaries of mobile games analytics and advertising performance. The Advertising division at King is a newly created team which will grow significantly across Europe and the US and you will play an instrumental role in that growth. It’s a great time to join and be there from the beginning!

You’ll improve the experience of King’s 300 million+ players across our network of games and help us to further understand the performance and effectiveness of our Advertising.

Your role within our Kingdom

You’ll have a proven ability to apply your skills practically in order to generate business value.

You will be part of the community of 100+ business intelligence & analytics experts at King, while working on a daily basis in smaller teams of 4-5 people, including data scientists focused on particular games, our network or specific ads units.

The main pieces of work you will be involved in include:

Providing accurate data, insights and analysis for the Ads decision makers and stakeholders
Looking at ads from a network perspective, helping to drive a consistent approach within games teams and getting new           teams up to speed
Dashboards and KPI reports – Our Data Analytics team will need occasional support as we add new ad types and                   tracking events, etc.
Identifying how we can tailor the ads offering to different segments
       Optimizing pricing across ad units
Identifying and disseminating best practices across BPUs in terms of ads-related tools, systems and processes
Ad-hoc analysis – we get lots of requests from the business for help analysing A/B tests, player behaviour, etc.

Skills to create thrills

The heart of this role involves analysing huge volumes of data from our advertising activities, using tools such as Hive, Impala and Hadoop, working closely with business and games teams to build insights and models to inform future investment.  You will also create analyses, reports and dashboards that allow the advertising team to understand and optimise our advertising initiative, using tools such as Python, R and EXASOL. An interest and understanding of coding would be advantageous, but is not essential.

You will have a passion for quantitative analysis and reporting, and the ability to draw business insights that will add real value to King. You will need to demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and work in a fast paced, rapidly changing and collaborative environment, whilst communicating effectively with teams and individuals across King - Developers, Business Performance Managers and Marketeers.

The skills needed in the team are broad and we are looking for someone who brings some of the following and is keen to learn others so they can contribute and grow:

Business insight: The ability to deeply understand the problems and issues our games and business want to solve and             define the right data or analysis or interpretation to lead to the best recommendations and decisions. Understanding of             A/B tests and statistical significance is an advantage
SQL: The ability to write complex SQL queries to analyse our databases and work effectively with both Hive/Impala             and relational database systems
Analytical coding: Using tools such as R, Python (and also Excel) for analytical purposes
Stats: Understanding the appropriate statistical techniques to use in different circumstances
Communication: Designing good ways of communicating, visualising or reporting your results/analysis so they are               clear and unambiguous. This will include building reports and presenting the results of your analysis using tools such as         Looker, Qlik Sense and others.

Specific experience that might be helpful, but is not required, include: experience in the games industry or similarly sophisticated customer-facing digital businesses; experience in “big data” systems such as Hadoop, Hive; experience in behavioural psychology/economics; robust understanding of more advanced statistical techniques suitable for analysis of highly skewed populations; experience in predictive analytics, segmentation, and related areas; experience in experimental design; software engineering skills in Java and other languages (beyond R, Python which we use most frequently); skills with standard reporting tools such as QlikView/Tableau/etc.
