As a BI Platform Analyst, you’ll join our close-knit and fast paced BI Platform and Governance team. We’ll look to you to support the team in making sure our BI Platform is continuously available for our users, and that scheduled processes are as efficient and optimised as possible. It’s a new position, and with lots of change going on across the business, there’s never been a more exciting time to join us. Your systems knowledge, performance tuning and analytics experience will help to inform decisions and inspire change. What you’ll do:
support the daily operation and ongoing maintenance of the BI Platform
perform systems tuning and configuration tasks, optimising and regulating settings to ensure maximum system performance for our users
prioritise, investigate and fix issues relating to live BI content, eg reports, dashboards etc
monitor and assess how teams and people are using the platform, tweaking user permissions as required and in line with governance policies
manage and migrate content though multiple environments,
enforce best practice and compliance,
support any ad hoc software and / or hardware upgrades,
become a subject matter expert in our data and underlying data models,
as a subject matter expert, provide uat support to future developments
To be successful, you’ll be a confident communicator with proven experience in a Business Intelligence environment. You’ll also be a natural problem-solver and used to working in fast-paced and complex organisations. And if you have what it takes to manage multiple conflicting priorities at any one time, you’ll thrive in our ever-changing environment.
We’d love to speak to you if:
you have extensive systems administrator experience with a top BI toolset - MicroStrategy is strongly preferred, but experience of Business Objects, SAP, or other BI toolsets would be considered
you have a minimum of 2 years proven experience of systems / database administration tasks
you have systems user management experience,
you have SQL and / or JAVA experience,
you have a solid understanding of the principles of BI, platform governance and data modelling,
you have project experience or an understanding of the project lifecycle
you’re results driven and people focussed,
you have retail experience, this would be preferred
