A leading national retailer are looking for a Promotions Analyst (SQL, Spotfire, Dashboards) to work in a team that performs anlayis on the variation in succes/sales uplift when alternate promotion strategies are implemented.

THE COMPANY

The company is one of Britain's most recognised retailers. They are an international company and this role focuses on the broad range of logistical data produced by the company in order to effectively influence decision making across the entire property group in the company. This group investigates tracking new equipment and product for new store openings, tracking non IT related problems (trend analysis of equipment breakdown, faults etc) to plan investment as well as a major project to link all their current data systems in order to allow analysis across all of them.

THE ROLE

If you were to be successful in your application for this Promotions Analyst (SQL, Spotfire, Dashboards), your responsibilities would include:

  • Perform analysis on transnational data from large databases (using SQL)
  • Mine data and assess the correct data sets which will be suited towards driving analytical insight
  • Apply statistical and analytical techniques to a commercial setting in order to both assess and interpret promotions the business is using and from there identify the best performing models
  • Similarly assess the optimal number of promotions to run at one time
  • Consult with key stakeholders across the business to deliver analytics and reporting across the business


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

In order for your application for the Promotions Analyst (SQL, Spotfire, Dashboards) role to be successful you will need;

  • The purpose of the role is to understand how well promotions are performing, are they profitable the way they are priced, how can they be improved etc.
  • SQL based - this is the main tool and is essential- The candidate MUST have commercial hands on SQL skills
  • They use Spotfire for visualisations but can consider candidates with experience in Qlik, Tableau, Looker, Domo or advanced Excel maybe as long as SQL is strong
  • Different background will be considered, but the candidate must be able to show they have delivered an uplift in sales through their analysis
